FIGHTING IN URBAN TERRAIN
by Nate McSweeney

In today's battlefield most conflicts are in urban areas. You do have your Afghan battles, Iraqi push and a few large open terrain firefights but you don't really see the WW2 all out Rommel assault. Fighting from house to house is dirty and very up close and personal. In most cases you will see your target make a face when hit (paintballs do hurt when fired close). A lot of today's paintball fields have an urban type field or zone (and sometimes games even take place on military MOUT sites), so here are some tips to keep you in the fight.

Some extra side tips on the above...........

Use smoke when ever possible. Most fields only allow cool burning smoke so take the time to find them if you want to use them. ALSO if you do get your hands on military issued smoke canisters, DO NOT pick them up once lit. They will burn your hand so badly you will be messed up and unable to play. I have had one burn my glove to the cannister and go through the glove and burned leather into my skin. That all happened in the time it took to pick it up(after lit)and throw it farther away. It almost stayed attached to the glove.
